Heart & Vascular Care

Founded more than 20 years ago, The Heart and Vascular Institute at JFK Medical Center has become a premier facility for comprehensive cardiovascular care, earning a national reputation for excellence in the process. When your heart is at stake, few hospitals can offer more advanced technology, more experienced heart care specialists and a greater range of support services to effectively diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease.

The Heart and Vascular Institute is known for its "firsts" in the cardiac field. We were the first in the nation to implant a metabolic pacemaker, which automatically adjusts to increased physical activity and emotional stress of users. We were also the first in Florida to use DCA (directional coronary atherectomies) and the first in Palm Beach County to use the Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator and to open an outpatient Cardiac Catheterization Unit.

Today, The Heart and Vascular Institute is the premier facility of its kind in the county. We perform more Open-Heart Surgeries, Cardiac Catheterizations, Angioplasties and related diagnostic procedures than anyone else. We're also very good at what we do. According to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, The Heart and Vascular Institute has the best surgical outcomes in Palm Beach County for coronary bypass surgery-exceeding other leading heart centers throughout the country. For recovering patients, we offer the county's largest Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
