Thank you for your interest in the JFKMC Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. Our program is designed to provide comprehensive training in the specialty Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with special emphasis on Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. We offer a wide variety of complex reconstructive foot and ankle cases and a very active trauma department. The program is fully integrated with many Orthopedic Rotations including Orthopedic Foot and Ankle, Pediatric Orthopedics, Orthopedic Sports Medicine as well as Hand and Microvascuslar surgery. We offer a fellowship with Dr. Dror Paley in advanced deformity correction and limb lengthening. The resources and expertise of over 20 years experience along with two state-of-the-art health care facilities, the JFK Medical Center and the Palms West Hospital are behind this program. There are four outpatient surgical centers affiliated with our program, providing a wide range of foot and ankle surgical experiences.

The curriculum is designed to provide hands on patient care experiences along side residents at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, internal medicine and general surgical residency training programs. Our residency training program is part of a true teaching hospital experience, which cannot be duplicated at most community hospital programs. Subspecialty rotations in Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Dermatology and Plastic Surgery are under the guidance of highly skilled specialists and educators.

Our curriculum recognizes that learners have different needs and we pride ourselves on meeting them through resident input, as well as individualizing the experience based on a resident’s interests and career path. Elective experiences allow residents to hone their skills in medical subspecialties as well as areas such as clinical research. We offer experience in participation of clinical trials, affording residents the opportunity to participate in FDA approved, Industry sponsored, clinical research. All this is offered within the friendly environment of West Palm Beach Florida.

Excellent patient care, scholarship, and superior surgical skills are the outcome measures we value most. Success in these three areas will lead to success your clinical practice. The at Florida Atlantic University Internal Medicine Residency Program can help you meet your goals. We are very proud of our program and I invite you to take a closer look.
