Special programs the Outpatient Therapy Center offers:
If you've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, we'll customize a six-week plan of care for your physician to review. It consists of relaxation techniques, nutrition and behavioral modification, an education series and pilates movement therapy, which allows you to increase energy and endurance while reducing pain and improving overall function.
This program is geared to individuals with Osteoporosis who have a bone density score of -2.5 with accompanying pain, weakness and demonstrable dysfunction. It has two results-driven components:
- Education on osteoporosis and nutrition to increase calcium and vital nutrients to your diet, and
- Site-specific exercises incorporating pilates movement therapy for stretching and strengthening.
Led by our physical therapists, this eight-week wellness program provides an hour of exercise twice a week to increase strength and decrease pain. It may be provided in a group setting that allows you to share your experiences with others who face similar challenges.
Designed to help individuals suffering from dizziness and imbalance, our specialists will assess your problem and develop a customized program that features training in compensatory strategies to relieve the symptoms of imbalance.
Therapists certified in lymphedema assessment and treatment provide lymphatic drainage massage techniques, medical compression extremity wrapping and therapeutic exercise to stimulate lymph fluid.
This program can make a major difference if you've experienced physical difficulties due to arthritis, acute orthopedic and chronic pain, an amputation, hand injuries, burns and wounds, neurological dysfunction and cumulative trauma disorders. Our Occupational Therapists will help you regain independence through a program of progressive activity and exercise to build fitness and functional capabilities. When appropriate, we'll train you in the use of adaptive equipment to replace lost function.
A certified Speech-Language Pathologist will develop a customized treatment plan for individuals who have lost functionality in the areas of speech and language ability, comprehension (spoken or written word), voice projection or swallowing. Accent reduction programs also are available.
