Third and fourth year podiatry students are eligible to rotate to JFK Medical Center on a monthly basis. Students from all schools of podiatric medicine may participate as long as an affiliation agreement with the school can be established. Externs work closely with the residents, observing and learning the Foot & Ankle Residency Training Program protocols, attending academic meetings and workshops, and scrubbing for a multitude of surgical cases. Meals (while in the hospital) and housing are provided at no charge but is subject availability. Externship applications are received through the AACPM website.
