Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS)

ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound System) Improves cancer detection by 35% over mammography in women with dense breasts. It looks at dense breasts differently to find cancer that mammography may not see. According to the American Cancer Society, breasts are considered dense if you have a lot of fibrous or glandular tissue and not much fatty tissue - “It’s like finding a snowball in a snowstorm.” Ultrasound is used most commonly in conjunction with mammography - not as a replacement for mammography.
