CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System

The Oncology team at JFK Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center is proud to use the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System to treat patients with cancerous and non-cancerous tumors. The non-invasive CyberKnife® System is an alternative to surgery for the treatment of all types of tumors. The treatment accurately delivers beams of high dose radiation to tumors, and gives patients new hope in the fight against cancer.

CyberKnife® treatment involves no cutting, as it is the world’s first and only robotic radiosurgery system designed to treat tumors non-invasively. This pain-free option works well for patients who have complex or inoperable tumors, or for those who may be looking for surgical alternatives.

The CyberKnife® Difference

The CyberKnife® System differs from conventional surgery in several ways:

  • The CyberKnife® System utilizes image-guidance software to continuously adjust treatment for any patient or tumor movement.
  • It does not require patients to remain in place, but relies on high-tech tracking software which provides a comfortable, non-invasive treatment.
  • The CyberKnife® System can treat a broad range of tumors throughout the body.
  • It can treat the tumor with radiation without affecting healthy tissue.

To date, more than 100,000 patients have been treated by the CyberKnife® System. This non-invasive alternative to surgery can treat tumors anywhere in the body, including the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney.
