Atlantis, FL—JFK Medical Center has named Hamid R. Feiz, MD, MBA, FHM as its chief medical officer (CMO).
Dr. Feiz will be responsible for the oversight of JFK Medical Center and JFK North Campus’ clinical agenda and utilization review in conjunction with administration and medical staff leaders. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Feiz will also serve as the liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration, reporting to the CEO.
Dr. Feiz received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Northridge, and his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana School of Medicine, Dominican Republic. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and the University of Florida-Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
He received his MBA in Healthcare Administration at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
Prior to accepting this position, Dr. Feiz was the Founding Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Chief, Division of Hospital Medicine (Site Medical Director) for Emcare IPS at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and Westside Regional Hospital.
Previous appointments include Chief Quality Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer, Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida; Chief Section of Hospitalist Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Westin, Florida; and Medical Director, Spring Hill Medical Group Primary Care and Urgent Care Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Feiz is board certified in internal medicine, and is a fellow in Hospital Medicine FHM. He has been recognized by the American College of Physicians 2015 “Top Physician Award”, and has been the recipient of the Emcare Hospitalist Regional Award, “Most Improved Hospitalist Program”. He is actively engaged in research and scholarly activities. In addition, he has participated in numerous poster and oral presentations, and is well-published.
